Community Policing Team News

We are pleased to say there has been a considerable decrease in the number of reported incidents of anti-social behaviour. We will continue to work to maintain this and would urge residents who witness such behaviour to contact us as soon as possible.

If you would like to speak to one of the team then call 07896 871008.

Spring is on the way and hopefully that means you will all be venturing out into your gardens. Burglaries can increase at this time of year. With this in mind please make sure that you lock your doors and windows even in the warmer weather. If you have a UPVC door it is not sufficient to just pull the handle up you need to lock it with the key. When you are in your gardens please be mindful that leaving your door open is an open invitation to a passing burglar. Don't leave your car keys in view as 80% of vehicles are stolen using the key. There has also been an increase in theft of garden furniture including plant pots which can be stolen and sold on at boot sales. Please secure them as best as you can.

On a final note and as a "keen" although slightly wobbly cyclist I often see adults and children enjoying the villages on bikes. I am painfully aware that some drivers lack consideration for cyclist and walkers; please keep yourselves safe by wearing a helmet and riding responsibly. If you are out on your bikes make sure that you lock them when you leave them even for short periods, the time it takes to unlock it is small compared to the time it takes to walk home. I also have some labels for marking bikes if you would like one let me know and I will drop it in.
